2056 - Tour Marrakech - Fes 3 days/2 nights

Description

3 day and 2 night trip in the South of Morocco with departure from Marrakech and arrival in the imperial city of Fes. Depending on the number of participants forming your group, we will put at your disposal either a car or a minibus; one of our expert drivers will accompany you throughout the tour. Should you desire it, with a small supplement, the driver may come greet you at the airport or come pick you up at your hotel in Marrakech, as well as leave you at the airport of Fes at the end of the wonderful days spent in Morocco.

4x4 vehicles are also available (with a supplement), however we believe a car or minibus is sufficient for this itinerary.

The organizing agency is in Marrakech and we may also provide tailored tours and itineraries.

The prices include: car or minibus for the whole period of the tour, car insurance, gas, driver, one night in a hotel, one night camping in a berber tent, the dromedaries, the dinners and the breakfasts. Prices are not inclusive of lunches and beverages.

Programme:

Day 1: Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dadès (300 km)
Departure in the morning from Marrakech in the direction of the Tizi n'Tichka hill and its suspended villages. Different stops are envisioned in the most suggestive points along the route and at its summit (2260m). Tour of the 11th century Aït Benhaddou Casbah, one of the marvels included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The itinerary will then take you to Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses, the road of a thousand Casbahs and ksours, Boumalne Dadès and the Dadès Gorge. Tour, Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Dadès gorge.

Day 2: Boumalne Dadès - Tinghir - Merzouga (260 km)
Departure for Tinghir. Tour and walk in the breathtaking ravines and in one of Morocco's vastest palm groves. We will then leave and go towards Erfoud. We will visit the luxurious valley of Tafilalet, the pre-Saharan oases and Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). In Merzouga we will stop at a hotel where we may leave our luggage and relax in the swimming pool before riding, by dromedary, into the desert. After an approximately 2 hour ride we will reach our destination, where we will have the opportunity of dining and sleeping in a Berber tent amidst the dunes in the very heart of the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Errachidia - Azrou - Ifrane - Fes (500 km)
Sunrise in the desert and return, always by dromedary, to Merzouga where we will have breakfast at the hotel and where those who wish to may take a hot shower. Departure for Rissani, capital of the Alaouite dynasty (current Moroccan royal family) and Errachidia. Tour of the blue springs of Meski; we will then cross the Ziz ravines and the "légionnaire" tunnel thus passing through a series of pre-Saharan fortified villages. We will then continue ascending the Atlas and pass through Midelt, Azrou, the cedar forests of Ifrane (nicknamed Little Switzerland) and then descend towards Fes which we should reach in the late afternoon.
