Description
The house was built in the 1920s, on the site of an ancient stable, by a Frenchman. It is Mediterranean in style with white limewashed walls and blue doors and windows. Completely renovated in the 1950s, it now has two rooms: the first has a double bed and a private but out of room bathroom while the second is a twin room with an en-suite bathroom and a private terrace.
The common rooms include a living room with a fireplace and a dining room, both of which open onto a flowered garden which is partially shaded by a beautiful vine. The terraces are on different levels and they consent a unique view over the bubbling waters of the estuary of the Oued Bou Regreg, over the medinas of both Salé and Rabat and over the 12th century Tour Hassan.
It altogether constitutes a welcome refuge where one may find peace and tranquillity after having been submerged in the vivacity and movement of the city and of the Casbah.
