Description

Organized tours in Southern Morocco.
These itineraries both start and finish in Marrakech and are therefore ideal for those who arrive there by airplane and do not have the desire or the time to rent and drive a car. One of our own expert drivers will accompany you throughout the journey and, depending on the number of people forming your group, we will arrange for a car or a minibus. Should you desire it, the driver may greet you directly at the airport or come pick you up at the hotel and may likewise leave you there at the end of your wonderful stay in the South of Morocco.
4x4 vehicles are also available with a supplement. However we believe a car or minibus is sufficient for this itinerary.
The organizing agency is in Marrakech and we may therefore also provide tailored tours and itineraries.

The prices are inclusive of: car or minibus for the whole period of the tour, car insurance, gas, driver, hotels, one night camping in a berber tent, the dinners and the breakfasts. Prices are not inclusive of lunches and beverages.

South-Sahara circuit
5 days/4 nights

Day 1 (220 Km) Marrakech - Aït benhaddou - Ouarzazate
Departure from Marrakech in the morning in the direction of Ouarzazate, an ancient garrison town. Along the route you will be able to admire the Tizi n'Tichka hill and its suspended villages. The road leading to the pass (2260m.) offers a unique opportunity see the Berber villages as they blend into the rocky landscape of the slope. Different stops are envisioned in the most suggestive points along the route and at its summit. Lunch break and then tour of the Aït Benhaddou Casbah, one of the marvels included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Stroll along the Uadi. Tour (on request) of the cinematographic establishments followed by that of the Taourirt Casbah in Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate (2 star hotel with swimming pool).

Day 2 (230 Km) Ouarzazate - Dadès Gorge - Todghra Gorge
The tour will then take you to the Valley of Roses and of the thousand Casbahs, Kelâa M' Gouna, capital of the Rose, and then to the Valley of the Dadès and its famous "monkey fingers". Walk in the gorge and return towards Boulmane Dadès in direction of Tinghir, through the pre-desertic planes. Dinner and overnight stay in the Todghra Gorge after having passed through part of the palm grove.

Day 3 (200 Km) Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga
The day will begin with a walk in the palm grove and in the Todghra Gorge where you will be able to admire the extraordinary 300 m cliffs and the impressive, red and ochre coloured, natural canyons. Departure for Erfoud, Tafilalet and the pre-Saharan oases, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty (current Moroccan royal family). Once in Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) we will leave the vehicle and head, riding dromedaries, into the red dunes of the desert. After an approximately two hour ride we will stop, admire the sunset and dine before going to sleep, in a Berber tent, in the midst of this magnificent setting.

Day 4 (250 Km) Merzouga - n'Kob- Drâa Valley- Tamnougalt
Sunrise in the desert and return, always by dromedary, to Merzouga where we will have breakfast at the Atlas du sable hotel and where those who wish to may take a hot shower. We will then leave Merzouga and head towards Rissani and n'Kob; crossing, along the journey the pre-Saharan planes and the cedar forests. We shall reach Tansikht at its crossing with the Drâa Valley. Continuing along a uady by the same name we will continue towards Tamnougalt; exceptional Casbah only a few kilometres from Agdez which is not to be missed. Walk in the palm grove. Dinner and overnight stay in a ksar (or equivalent).

Day 5 (290 km) Tamnougalt -Fint Oasis - Marrakech
Return passing across the Tizi Tinifift hill and its almost lunar landscape. We will cross Ouarzazate and then, after a 10 km drive along a desert trail, the Fint Oasis; a luscious green harbour apparently in the middle of nowhere. We will take a walk along the uadi and then have lunch in a local home. We will then head back for Marrakech, passing through first the Tifoultout Casbah and then, at sunset, the Tizi n'Tichka. Return to the hotel.

5 day / 4 night accompanied tour.
Prices are inclusive of: car (or minibus, depending on the number of people in your group), car insurance, gas, the driver/courier, the hotels, the cost of the sleepover in the desert and of the camels, all in half-board (4 dinners, beverages not included).

Merzouga "Grand Sud" tour
4 days / 3 nights

Day 1: Marrakech - Valley of Roses - Dadès Gorge (360Km)
Departure in the morning from Marrakech in the direction of the Tizi n'Tichka hill and its suspended villages. Different stops are envisioned in the most suggestive points along the route and at its summit (2200m). The day will then continue with the tour the 11th century Aït Benhaddou Casbah, one of the marvels included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses, the road of a thousand Casbahs, Boumalne Dadès and the Dadès Gorge. Tour, Dinner and overnight stay in a local hotel.

Day 2: Dadès Gorge - Todghra Gorge - Merzouga (180Km)
The day will begin with a walk in the Todghra Gorge and in the palm grove, one of Morocco's vastest. We will then cross Erfoud, the Tafilalet Valley, the pre-Saharan oases and reach Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). We will then leave our car and ride, on dromedary back, into the desert where we will dine and camp in a Berber tent after having admired the sunset from the dunes surrounding us.

Day 3: Merzouga - Alnif - Drâa Valley- Agdez (230Km)
Sunrise in the desert and then we will head for Rissani, capital of the Alaouite dynasty (current Moroccan royal family). We will then head for the N'Kob, along the pre-Saharan planes and the ceder forsests. We will reach Tansikht at its crossing with the Drâa Valley. We shall follow the valley and reach Tamnougalt (some kilometres before Agdez), famous for its exceptional Casbah. We shall visit the Casbah and take a walk in the palm forest then dine and stay overnight.

Day 4°: Agdez - Oasi Fint - Marrakech (290Km)
Departure, in the morning. We shall head for the Tizi Tiniffift hill and its almost lunar landscape. We shall then head for Ouarzazate and, after a 10 km drive along a desert trail, reach the Fint Oasis where we shall have breakfast and take the time to visit this luscious green harbour apparently in the middle of nowhere. We will then head back for Marrakech, passing through, at sunset, the Tizi n'Tichka. Return to the hotel.

4 day / 3 night accompanied tour
